Define capacity?

  Capacity is a term for the amount of suspended material that can be carried by a stream. The capacity of a stream depends on how rapidly it flows, and on the size of the particles of suspended soil or other matter carried along by the current, it therefore varies according to the changing conditions of the stream’s course.
