COMPUTER AIDED PROCESS PLANNING (CAPP)

  Capp is a means to automatically develop the process plan with help of computer programs. The geometric model of the part is input for the process planning systems. Based on the characteristics of a given part, the program automatically generates the sequence of manufacturing operations. The categories include cad database, machine database, tool database, material database, fixtures database, etc. Capp thus appears to fully integrate CAD/CAM.
